What is the Lord’s Priority?

wolf in sheeps clothingFor do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ? (Galatians 1:10)

Is the Lord’s first priority the salvation of lost souls?

Or has He established a greater ministry than evangelism?

Or does He allow us to do whatever is necessary to win people to Christ?

Wisdom Cries Out!

skeletons see hear speak

Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: she crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the opening of the gates.;” (Proverbs 1:20-21a)

I often wonder why simple, good, right thinking is not followed in our world.

And then I realize that this is not a new problem.

Wisdom has been crying out all through history. It has been screaming from the rooftops.

But men and nations have rejected the words of scripture from the most ancient of times.

So, this is not a case where the words of wisdom are not being heard. Men clearly hear what God is saying.

It’s just a simple case of men rejecting God’s words.

The leadership of our own country is ignoring God’s wisdom today. They are rejecting God’s Truth while trying to establish some other way to follow.

To establish some new Way. And to follow some new Path.

Like someone trying to find a black cat, in a vast dark cave, at midnight.

Saved by Works of “Love”?

What is the greatest need of man?

If he gains all that this world has to offer, yet loses his soul, his loss will be felt through all eternity.

Consider that for a moment. If one would gain all the wealth, fame, adulation, pleasure, and happiness possible in this world, but loses his soul, the tragedy would be beyond imagination.

Yet, those leading our churches have forgotten this foundational truth.

They’ve forgotten that we are eternal beings. We were not made for this world. We were not designed to seek our fulfillment here.

Nor to help others to find their fulfillment here.

Make an Eternal Difference

City Office Windows Night

When I look at the world around me, even at my own small-town world, it seems unfathomable that the vast majority of those people I know will never see eternal life; but will spend an eternity in the Lake of Fire.

I don’t know how to deal with that. It is sobering. It is horrifying. And it is heartbreaking.

But it drives me to pray. To pray that the Lord will help me to be faithful in presenting His truth to those around me.

A “Kind” Orthodoxy?

Feet in Chains

I recently heard the phrase, “a kind orthodoxy”, used by a local pastor in his Sunday sermon.

I’m not sure how he came up with this phrase but it sent off warning alarms in my head. Because I’d seen this phrase somewhere before. I just couldn’t remember where.

Then I did some research; and my fears were justified.

Christians Against Good Stuff?

Concert Crowd Smoke

I’ve been hearing a lot of Christian leaders putting down things that are not really bad.

Such as:

The American Dream: Equal opportunity for all, an equal voice for all, freedom of religion and language.

Individualism: The Freedom of Individual choice, individual accountability before men and before God.

Nationalism: Promoting American ideals, protecting American citizens, promoting American Traditions and heritage.

Capitalism: Freedom of Individual labor choice, small business promotion, a work and trade system similar to that which Jesus knew.

They preach as if these are BAD things! As if, we should not protect these things against the political and social movements that are working to destroy them.

That we should just sit passively by as these things are being removed from our lives by Progressivism and Liberalism.

As they are being attacked by Spiritual Liberalism specifically.
