Preaching a “Jesus” That Can’t Save You

A false choice is being sold to us. Or fed to us. Or whatever they are doing to us.

I’ve been hearing phrases like “the story of Jesus” and “the life of Jesus” and “the story of God” for a while now. They are used to describe the preaching of the gospel.

But not the kind of preaching you might think.

These phrases often used to describe a very selective Jesus. A very selective gospel based on a limited focus of who Jesus is and what He taught.

Such a gospel only gives the promise of hope. But it lacks the foundation and fullness to satisfy the soul seeking to know Christ.

The Lord’s Priority: Conclusion – Separated Unto Christ

What is the most underlying, common problem with the New Evangelical and Progressive Christian movements?

The answer is disobedience to God’s Word.

And one of the most basic components of this disobedience is an unwillingness to separate from evil. Or, to say it another way, to separate ourselves unto Him.

Christian Intellectual Idolatry

Just a note on something I saw the other evening on an internet news site.

There was a chart showing which groups formed the highest percentage of those supporting a particular candidate for governor.

What struck me were the 4 groups singled out that supported this candidate. I fit into all four groups. Although I can only remember 3 of them now, they were as follows:

  • White Evangelicals
  • White Men without a College Degree
  • White Seniors

Yoo Hoo! I wonder if there is some kind of prize I’ve won for fitting into all these groups?!

I’ll bet it’s a really special prize!!
