The Presence of the Lord: Part 1

The Lord’s presence is taken for granted by many Christians today.

In fact, most churches just assume that the Lord is present and delighted in most everything that they do.

All because an opening prayer was made in Jesus’ name, beautiful hymns were sung, the pastor preached a very passionate sermon, or that people really felt the presence of the Lord in the service that day.

Salvation By Baptism?

Of all the stumbling blocks that confuse men regarding the way of salvation, baptism is near the top of the list.

It is difficult to find a religious denomination that does not teach some form of baptismal regeneration. Or to put it another way, salvation that is linked, in some way, to the practice of water baptism. Regardless of whether one is sprinkled with water or immersed beneath it, it is popularly taught that this ritual is a major component of salvation.

The problem for all these groups is that the Bible doesn’t actual teach this.

Baptism has no relationship to salvation.

Nor does it have any effectiveness to cleanse from sin.

Offended by a Word

“For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off: That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.”      (Isaiah 29: 30-21)

Talk about an Old Testament scenario repeating itself in modern times. This verse is an incredible condemnation of our own American culture.

It’s Deja Vu, all over again.
