”
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6)
Nothing is more basic to the gospel than the simple fact of the existence of God.
The answers to man’s deepest questions and the fulfillment of his deepest longings all hinge upon our individual trust in God.
What is Man?
Either man is a created being; or he is not.
Either we have been created by a loving God, or we are on our own.
All of Eternity hangs in the balance over how we answer this question of creation.
We are dealing with the ultimate existential question here. This is not simply man against nature, man against other men, man against governments, or man against culture.
No, this is man against Eternity. This is the greatest of all existential conflicts: Man against God.
Attached is a YouTube video that I would heartily recommend dealing with this question. It is very well done. It lasts about 16 minutes.
If it gets a little bogged down in the middle with some philosophical ponderings, please, stick with it.
I would especially recommend the statements by SM Lockridge in the beginning and at the end of this video.
SM Lockridge’s statements, to use a quote from J Vernon McGee, are “like a chicken dinner to my soul”!
Enjoy.
