There are many forms of the Law.

The Old Testament Levitical priesthood system was the original version.

But men have created innumerable other forms of that system of morals, rules, and rituals to replace the original law.

The very law that the Lord Jesus Christ fulfilled. By bringing in another law. A better Law.

Which is the Law of faith.

The Seduction of Latent Power

“For we which live are alway delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.” (II Corinthians 4: 8-12)

The world is full of many strange things.

Various religions demonstrate their powers through levitation, bizarre physical abilities, appearances of disembodied forms and many other apparitions that are shockingly real.

The question is, “What is the origin of this power?” Is it from power drawn from within these mystics, gurus and shamans?

Some teach that this is power which is latent within man. That is resides in all people but lies unharnessed by most. Others believe it comes from a source outside of man.

The Bible teaches that these manifestations are the workings of demonic entities attempting to deceive these mystics and those who follow them.

The Dark Hidden Agenda: Contemplative Prayer Part 4

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

As a conclusion, for the moment, to the last few posts about the Contemplative Prayer movement, I wanted to mention one more thing. 

There are a great many people within the Evangelical and Fundamental movements that live in a kind of bubble as relates to the supernatural. By a bubble, I mean that the manifestations of the Holy Spirit and the manifestations of evil spirits are seldom seen and seldom discussed in these circles.

There is even a resistance to teaching on these things. To even understanding the proper place that miracles play in our modern age.

There is even a resistance to teaching on the deeper life that many of the old saints spoke of. To even understand the vital role that the Holy Spirit plays in living a sanctified life as a believer. There is a fear that these teachings will veer into some heretical or deceptive realm.
